Sandra "Candy" Christophe was born in Independence, Louisiana. She obtained an undergraduate degree in May 1990 after attending Louisiana College in Pineville, La., and Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.. She obtained a graduate degree in May 1993 from the Grambling State Unversity School of Social Work in Grambling, La. Her professional experience includes working as a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed addiction counselor, a small business owner, and is the Founder and Executive Director of Re Entry Solutions a non-profit focused on helping the formerly incarcerated.

In the 2020 Election Candy ran for Congress in Louisiana's 5th Congressional District and in 2021 she ran in the 2021 Special Election for Louisiana's 5th.

Gerber Porter was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Dillard University with a degree in Mathematics and graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Nuclear Engineering. Gerber has nearly 30 years of experience in various industries and professions. He has worked as an actuary in the insurance industry, an engineer and manager in the oil and chemical industry; and as an educator at the secondary and collegiate levels.

Gerber has been active in community affairs for the past 20 years. He serves as a board member for several civic organizations and participates in many community events. He also served 6 years on the Rapides Parish Drainage Board and one term as a City Council Member.

Although retired, Gerber continues to tutor and mentor students in math and science. He has put his vast corporate experience to use by helping entrepreneurs to launch their own businesses and network with other entrepreneurs. Gerber now spends considerable time educating, empowering, and encouraging citizens to get involved with political issues that significantly impact their community.
